Authenticity and Badassery

Tonight was amazing! For the first time ever, I performed a 3 song set in front of aroud 75 people!! It was a truly magical experience and I am happy I was able to be a part of it. The first song I sang was a rewrite of "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid, which I tied into coming into my sexuality. Next, I mashed up "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole and "My Funny Valentine" from Babes in Arms and sang it to my boyfriend turned best friend (long story lol). My last song was a mash up of 7 Stephen Sondheim songs. These songs are all usually sung by women, and I sang it becasue, for some reason, I have an easier time connecting to songs made for women and would love to play most of these roles someday. The medely went as follows, "Old Friends ~ Like it Was," "Stay With Me," "Sunday in the Park With George," "Last Midnight," "Green Finch and Linnet Bird," "Miller's Son," "Getting Married Today."
